THE OTHER SIDE OF VIKY
Photo shoot in Venice for the skiing champion. Behind the sweet face, a young, determined lady, ready to take up new challenges, both on the piste and in her everyday life
On the slopes her grit and talent shine through; in front of the camera she reveals her splendid simplicity. Twenty-two years old, with an enviable physique,Viktoria Rebensburgis one of the strongest champions of the moment. In 2010 she won gold in the Giant Slalom at the Vancouver Olympics, and in 2011 she won the Women's Giant Slalom World Cup.
Viky loves Italy, and what location could be better than Venice? Three sets were chosen for the occasion: the Centurion Palace - a luxury designer hotel overlooking St Mark's Square, with rooms that offer the ideal context for a photo shoot - the Punta della Dogana, and the Grand Canal, where the photos were taken on board a boat.
Nordica, which is technical sponsor for her equipment, wanted to emphasise her femininity in a shoot that portrays Viky in a magnificent location: we see the champion step out of her ski suit and dress like a model. Viky is always charming and elegant, and above all extremely natural; the photos show us a young lady full of energy, who knows that what she wants is to be on the next podium.
A touch of make up and hey presto: the initial shyness dissolves to reveal a confident and carefree young lady, the Viky who is always ready to face new challenges on the slopes.
This joyful free spirit was determined to express her sporting side even here on the lagoon. However, this time we didn't see her with her skis on her feet, but with a golf club in her hands, revealing another of her favourite activities, ready to go all in, with a sense of fun and irony. On the snow or on the green – or rather in the middle of the city - she can always prove her great ability.
Perhaps after this experience our champion is ready to take to the catwalks? In the meantime, we look forward to seeing her in future contests! Go Viky!
